Madness on the Moonsea

Session 1: the Chicken Returns
in which the party rises from the long sleep of sanity.

Having spent six months in a Mulmasterian prison and 18 months thereafter as the respectable proprietors of the Celestial Fried Chicken eatery and the Eternal Slumber B&B, our heroes once again heed the call to adventure. This particular call was bellowed from the great feast hall of Tempus, the Lord of Battle; specifically, the warrior-priests of Tempus called a Great Hunt, a semi-annual event where all comers are invited to go forth and slay the mightiest beast they dare to challenge, bring it’s head to the faithful of Tempus, and regail their fellows with tall tales of how they did their daring deed. Whoever slew the mightiest foe and told the finest tale of the adventure would then come into no small ammount of treasure and high renown, as well as having a grand feast held in their honour.

The Party, of course, had other ideas…

At length, the party hatched a plot to install themselves as caterers to the festivities surrounding the Great Hunt and poison the competition. And the Priesthood of Tempus. And everyone else present at the feast… The party made their case to the Shield Bearer , high priest of Tempus in the city of Mulmaster, and he agreed to accept any contributions to the festivities they could provide. Then the party went abroad in search of the most powerful poisons they could find.

In short order, this search braught them to the much fabled and dreaded city of Zhentil Keep, home to some of the blackest hearts in all the Realms. Here, among the squalor and depravity of the cities docks district, the party found a poison-master most foul, and a wealth of lusty goblin-folk. In payment for his evil wares, the poison-master demanded the head of his rival; a beast of a man said indeed to be a werewolf. Here in the docks, the party also found access to several barrels of Export Strength ‘Dragon Barf’, an ale world renown for it’s ability to rot guts.

Getting the ale shipped to Mulmaster was a simple affair, but of course, the acauisition of the werewolf skull ended in a huge explosion.

So endeth the session.

Session 3: King of the Craud!
in which an ally arrives with an unusual army.

The party finally roused itself to investigate the enemy that had fallen upon the ship, finding them to be a swarm of predatory fish-men from the depths of the Moonsea come to plunder cargo and feast on human flesh. After ‘helping’ the situation, and all the sailors were dead, the party joined battle with this new enemy. Their number was seemingly endless, but the party faught hard to save the now flaming, sinking vessel.

As the battle raged, up from the murky depth welled strange salvation. Thoradin, the party member left to secure (burn down) the groups business in Mulmaster had raised (stolen) a legion of craud to explore the high seas, conveniently happening upon his colleagues. The self styled King of the Craud rode his mighty steed into battle, leading crab-beasts into glorious battle with savage fish-men, sending some of his more trustworthy (midnless) craud leutenants to rescue other party members from the inky depths.

Meanwhile, on the ship, Eldon had other ideas for securing victory. Securing a keg of blasting powder from the ships hold, he cast it with gleeful abandon into the nearest open flame. Moments later, an almighty blast tore the ship in half and cast the few survivors into the foaming sea.

So ended the life and times of Eldon the Gnome; Pyromaniac Extraordinaire. His mangled body claimed by the depth as those he left behind quietly cheered.

What followed was a strange salvage opperation involving a novel application of magical extradimentional spaces and millions of gallons of water.

So endeth the session.
